Marc Hirschi joins UAE Team Emirates

Marc Hirschi, the Swiss Sportsman of the Year 2020, has signed a new contract with the UAE Team Emirates. This marks the beginning of a new era for the young cycling talent, as he will be riding for the same team as last year's Tour de France winners from this year onwards. "You cannot imagine how proud I am for that boy from my town Ittigen. To work with an athlete like Marc adds another dimension to my post career work within professional cycling. As advisor, it is important to me that the athlete can work in an environment that challenges and encourages in equal measure. And I know this is what he will find in his new team.", says Fabian Cancellara, manager of Marc Hirschi and owner of Sette Sports.

Team DSM and Marc Hirschi part ways
​
Team DSM has reached a settlement agreement with their rider Marc Hirschi to terminate their
present employment before the original end date of 31 December 2021. It has been agreed that the
agreement will be terminated with immediate effect and that no further comments will be made.
​
Marc Hirschi experienced in 2020 a breakthrough season with some amazing highlights. Hirschi and
the team brought home some great wins; a stage in the Tour de France and Fleche Wallonne. An
exciting 2nd place in Liège-Bastogne-Liège and a podium finish at the Road World Championships
(3rd) were a further display of the great season which youngster Hirschi experienced in 2020.
